We've missed Robert this last week. I was sick, Max was sick, and Robert, poor guy, had croup. Reunited this week, it is so fun to see how even a week makes a difference. Robert is pointing out everything with a word attached. Some favorites are: boonz (balloons), fapo (flagpole), boom (broom), a new one today gosh (garage), cup (snack cup), peesee (sippee), cat, oof (dog), don (down or done, which can also be relayed through his throwing food on the floor :-)), and see (that's an obvious one, but what he LOVES to see is inside the bread maker, so I scoop him up and drop his face right to the window so he can see the stirring). Robert is ADORABLE. He's grown up a month in a week. I love, love, love this little guy!

3:00 Up from nap - chatted for a while.
The boys played for a while, both in the pack and play by Max's request. Pretty impressive. No fights in those tight quarters, just play.

A sleepover! Baths first, then jammies...
Robert went down for the night around 8. He woke up at about midnight, crying pretty hard. I went in and held him for a little bit, and then put him back down. He cried a little longer, and then fell asleep until about 7:30
Breakfast: eggs, toast, and blueberries
On to the optometrist at Costco, where we had a special treat afterwards for how good both Robert and Max were through the appointment.
With shoes and jackets already on, we played outside for a while. Again, we had to see the balloons, too :-)
At around 12:00 we came in and had lunch (tuna and peas). Nursery lesson: sharing. Songs: I will, Once I was a Snowman, Falling Down, Fun to Do, 1st & 2nd Articles of Faith. After our nursery lesson, Robert and Max were running around, and Robert somehow crashed into the hope chest, bearing the brunt just left of his left eye (whew, that was a close one). He cried pretty hard for about 20 seconds, tough, tough boy. I gave him some Tylenol, knowing it was going to hurt, as I saw it redden and puff out. He wasn't crying, but needing to be snuggled. We grabbed his blankies and read some books, and then he went down for his nap around 1:00...and now at 3:00, it sounds like he's stirring. Here's his war wound...I love how he's putting on a tough face in this picture, too. Robert really is the toughest kid I know.

Today was quite different from usual...
It started with the standard snack around 10:00 - yogurt, pineapple, and Chex
Then we did some cleaning, which of course both Robert and Max LOVE. The outside porch has been driving me crazy because the birds love to sit above, so their...well...you know, ends up on the railing on the porch. So we cleaned that, and the boys delighted in splashing around in the water. With their shoes and coats already on, we headed out at around 11:30 for more time in the beautiful sunshine. Hooray for warmth and hooray for sun. So outside we went.
Robert and Max so happily played outside for an hour and a half - walking in the snow, climbing up the steps at the clubhouse, and most particularly for Robert, catching a glimpse and touch of the balloons on the For Sale sign at the clubhouse.
Once inside near 1:00 Robert and Max needed to wind down. We had a nursery lesson on Sharing and sang: Hello Song, Once I Was a Snowman, Falling Down, Fun to Do, Hello Friends, Our Door is Always Open.

Here are some pictures from last week, and today...one is from Robert's sleepover here, where he tried on shoes. Sorry the pictures aren't clearer with some...I've been taking them with the Bloggie which isn't quite as good for still photos...especially with a moving boy! Another is of the two of us reading at Grammy and Papa's. He loves the ABC book and pointed out and said, "apple," "woof" (for dog obviously), and made the sign for lion for the "L" picture of the lion. Impressive1
Then for today...
Robert, what a good cleaner, doesn't he look big?! He pointed to the wash cloth and said "clean," and then started on the floor and on his high chair. Max and Robert are learning better about taking turns. Here they're learning from the stool. Max's version of playing with the stool together was to sit on Robert, who he affectionately calls, "Rubbie Dubs." Robert is desperately trying to begin his piano lessons sooner than later. I'm not sure what the fascination is with the dryer, but it's definitely there! He always wants to go pull out the lint trap, and often climbs on in.
Went down for a nap around 1:00 and then woke up at 3:00.
CUTE! The missionaries just stopped by, and gave Max and Robert fist bumps. Robert showed his wariness in only offering a finger poke. :-)

10:00 To Jiffy Lube for Safety/Emissions and Wal-Mart; dangerous...while we were at Jiffy Lube, one of the crew was sweeping. Robert definitely wanted to participate.

11:00 Running - that never lasts TOO long, but good to get the boys active. Played "dolls" (no worries Bryce) - we just took some time to learn how to take care of stuffed animals - a frog, bunny, and snowman - keeping them warm, giving them food, letting them sleep, giving them baths.
11:30 Puzzles, Letters and Colors. Matched the different letters with a picture.

Robert was up at about 7:30 this morning chatting. I got ready, and then went to get him. I listened outside the door and he was saying "Uh oh, uh oh, uh oh." I discovered the problem when I walked in and found his jammies unzipped to his diaper. So cute.
He's having cocoa crispies for breakfast. When I told him what he was going to eat, he said, "cocoa." His list of words is growing every day! Yesterday he started spinning around. This worked most of the time, but once there was a little too much spinning and he fell right over.
